For more than 15 years, Tech-Tav's policy has been to employ top technical experts and the best technical writers available. But hiring the best is not enough. Tech-Tav invests extensively in continuing professional education for the staff and in maintaining a high level of job satisfaction. The result is that turnover at Tech-Tav is unusually low. We are proud of the fact that most of our technical writers on staff have been with us 7 years or more.

Technical Writers

  • Adina Sherer (MSc, computer science): Software design, system programming, application development under VMS, DOS, UNIX, EDX. Formerly systems engineer, system programmer, and developer.
  • Ayelet Wiederman (BA, web programming): Datacom and telecom hardware and software, software design, application and web development, database programming. Formerly application and web developer.
  • Barry Hirschfeld (PhD, chemical engineering): Software engineering, algorithm development. Has developed simulators, signal analyzers, number crunchers, and printing engine. Programming languages: Fortran, Pascal, Assembler, Basic, C, C++. Formerly doctoral instructor in the mathematics and computer science department of Bar Ilan University: officer in Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Ben Mansheim (BA): Network administrator and project manager. Extensive experience in network design, management and support in large, multinational corporation, including ventures in streaming media, animation production and financial services. Certified by Microsoft and CompTIA, trained on multiple Cisco devices, and accepted as a member of the Project Management Institute.
  • David Peters (MSc coursework, Operational Research; BSc. Mathematics): Software user guides: API and CLI reference guides. Formerly software developer and QA engineer.
  • Esther Jacobs (BSc, accounting; programming certification): Programming, analyst and documentation supervisor. Database programming, financial and medical applications, reporting and accounting. Formerly lead programming analyst.
  • James Kilner (BEng, electronic engineering): Telecom and datacom hardware and software. Programming languages: C, C++, VB. Formerly software engineer responsible for the development of testing and analysis software for the mobile phone industry.
  • Janet Weiner (BA, computer science; working toward MSc): Over 20 years of IT experience in systems development, analysis, integration, and documentation. Formerly supported US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) satellite navigation acquisitions as information security engineer; wrote information security requirements and documentation for security certification and authorization package. Programming languages: Basic, Cobol, Fortran, C, C++.
  • Jonathan Cohen Technical marcom, end-user and instructional documentation, and business graphics. Line-of-business applications, ISDN, communications, and software. Formerly physics and electronics instructor; author of astronomy textbook.
  • Melvyn Mildiner (BSc, computation): Software design, Web design, building systems, telephony hardware and software, avionics software and protocols, Web2.0, and maintenance of Windows machines. Over 15 years experience in mobile computing devices (PDAs) using all of the major mobile platforms: EPOC, Windows Mobile, Palm OS, etc. Formerly software and hardware QA engineer for an avionics company and writer/product tester for three of Europe's largest computer magazines.
  • Menachem Rosen (PhD, electrochemistry): Expertise in MS Word, macro development, Visio, and other graphic and computer programs. Formerly senior researcher in electrochemistry, using computerized control for experiments, measurements, and analysis.
  • Michelle Min-Hahar (BA, computer science & linguistics): Computer applications and languages, computer research, database programming, hardware, quality assurance. Formerly researcher in artificial intelligence at Digital Equipment Corporation.
  • Monica Haber (BSc, computer science): Expertise in AuthorIT, EPIC, Webworks. Programming experience in XML, JSP and HTML. Quality Assurance. Management experience. Formerly software developer.
  • Rochelle Lev (MSc Aquatic Resource Management; BSc (Hons) Biology): Experience includes User and Administration Guides, Installation Guides, Online Help, Proof of Design and Test Procedures documentation and Quality Assurance. Previous experience includes Project Management, Technical Support and Network Administration. Microsoft Certified Professional. Expertise includes MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker and AuthorIT.
  • Sara Levy (BSc, physics): 10 years experience in technical and marketing documentation, training materials and training in authoring software and technical writing. API developer's and reference guides, brochures, CLI administration and command reference guides, GUI user guides, installation guides, online help, overview guides, web-based training, websites. Master use of Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Word. Custom template design.
  • Shifra Heftler (BA, mathematics): Telecom, data communications, networking, optical networks, programming interfaces, telephony, middleware, e-commerce, Web-site applications, enterprise application integration, single sourcing using AuthorIT, on-line help, HTML programming. Former mathematics instructor.
  • Suri Fulda (BA, economics & computer science): On-line help specialist and programmer in HTML and VXML. Expertise in large-scale documentation conversions and single sourcing using AuthorIT and Framemaker . Formerly QA engineer specializing in telephony, IVR, and VOIP. Worked in UNIX and MySQL environments.
  • Tamar Pierce (MA, learning disabilities): Statistical analysis and applications programming, COBOL, Fortran, telecom hardware and software. Formerly programmer analyst on year-2000 software project.
  • Victoria Feinerman (BA, English; MA coursework, English; coursework in computer science & mathematics): Single sourcing, on-line help. End-user guides; API and CLI reference guides; tutorials for Internet communications infrastructure, enterprise security, search and navigation, mobile Internet proxy, support and diagnostics, and firewall management hardware and software. Expertise in MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, AuthorIT. Programming languages: C, Pascal, Prolog, Assembler. Formerly editor-in-chief of a literary magazine, English instructor, and author of English textbook.
  • Yehudah Goldberg (MSc, Clinical Sociology; BA, Comparative Literature): Experience in biotechnology, data encryption, databases, data communication, digital printing, financial products, healthcare products, medical devices, military technology, network management, optics, programming, quality assurance, semiconductors, sensor technology and telephony.
